Ethical guidelines for Peer reviewers

Research in Exercise and Sports Medicine (RESM) follows and adheres to: COPE Ethical Guidelines for Peer Reviewers.  
Confidentiality 

Manuscripts under peer review should be strictly confidential. Reviewers must not share manuscripts or discuss their content with anyone outside the peer review process.  Reviewers should not discuss the manuscript with anyone other than the RESM Editor, nor should they discuss any information from the manuscript without permission
Conflicts of interest

Reviewers should not review manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships or connections.

 

  What should be checked while reviewing a manuscript :

    Novelty
    Originality
    Scientific reliability
    Valuable contribution to the science
    Adding new aspects to the existed field of study
    Ethical aspects
    Structure of the article submitted and its relevance to authors’ guidelines
    References provided to substantiate the content
    Grammar, punctuation and spelling
    Scientific misconduct 

When writing your review report, please keep in mind that your feedback will be shared with the manuscript author(s). Thus, we expect to receive your constructive and professional evaluations only in the English language. Please note that we reserve the right to remove any inappropriate language from your report. 
RESM uses a structured form for reviewers to submit their reports. This means you will need to fill in a structured questionnaire to provide feedback to the Editor and authors. You will also have a dedicated field to share confidential comments with the editor.
